Manuel Galindo is the son of two hardworking Salvadoran migrants, a South Central LA Native and a UC Berkeley graduate. He works to end all forms of wealth extraction from low income communities of color while uplifting the voices of those most impacted by incarceration. A community organizer and policy advocate, Manuel has a history of working on issues such as reforming sentencing, probation, child support, restitution, court fines and fees and the bail system. Currently he is Carceral Debt Organizer for the Debt Collective. His focus is building collective power among carceral debtors to push systemic changes, including complete debt abolition.
