Tamisha Walker is a co-founder and current Executive Director of the Safe Return Project, a Richmond, California-based organization invested in securing the freedom and liberation of formerly incarcerated and convicted individuals. Walker has been a community organizer and known advocate on mass incarceration since her release from incarceration in 2009. With over a decade of community organizing experience and a BA in Psychology from California State University, East Bay, she oversees Safe Return’s local, state, and national projects. Tamisha is currently a Soros Justice Fellow working on transformative narratives strategies to strengthen grassroots movements for mass liberation and environmental justice.
